In brief
Exporting waste heat to district heating is a process in its own right: heat exchange, temperature lift, control, pumping and metering. Finkova delivers the valves, pumps and metering for heat recovery and installs them together with the recovery piping and instrumentation. Our energy-sector background makes it familiar ground.
Delivery scope
- Valves, pumps and metering for the heat recovery loop and the district heating connection.
- Installation of heat recovery piping, valves, pumps and instrumentation.
- Commissioning support for the interfaces between cooling, heat recovery and the district heating connection, including the bypass.
- Measurement verification, handover documentation and maintenance planning.
Responsibilities and interfaces
The cooling system, the heat recovery plant and the district heating network have separate operating requirements. Their interfaces, bypass arrangements and test responsibilities are agreed with the owner, the equipment suppliers and the network operator. Contractual heat sales are outside the installation scope.
Cooling must never depend on the heat sale
If the network stops taking heat, the recovery equipment fails or the connection is under maintenance, the data center carries on as normal. The recovery loop needs its own isolation and control valves and an automatic bypass, and the changeover is tested for real at commissioning. Heat sold is measured with a thermal energy meter, and the billing requirements come from the network owner.
What to send us
Send the process diagram, heat exchanger and recovery equipment data, temperature levels, interface requirements and the installation programme.
Frequently asked questions
Why does data center heat need a heat pump?
Server loop return water is warmer than the exhaust air of an air-cooled hall, but district heating supply needs a higher temperature still. A heat pump lifts it to the network's level, and a higher cooling temperature class means a smaller lift.
What does Finkova deliver for heat recovery?
The valves, pumps and metering around the recovery system, their installation together with the piping and instrumentation, and commissioning support for the interfaces and the bypass.
